| Artist: David Bowie Title: The Man Who $old the World Date: 1970 Label: Mercury Records Cover Art: MJ Weller
Notes: Here's an old Bowie album with an alternate cover. The usual cover has a black & white picture of Bowie on the front, not sure about the back. A great album full of nice guitar work and dark, clever lyrics. I'm sure there's been a little more interest in this record since the title tune was covered by Nirvana, but it can stand on its' own among other classics by David. There aren't any notes as to cover artist credits.

Side 1 Side 2 If anyone has any additional information pertaining to the album or players you can send an E-mail to Tralfaz. Thanks. Here's some additional info sent in by Tom M: The UK cover of the first release of The Man Who Sold the World, on which Bowie is seen reclining in what he called a "man's dress",[4] was an early indication of his interest in exploiting his androgynous appearance. The original US issue employed a cartoon-like cover drawn by Bowie's friend Michael J. Weller, featuring the Cane Hill mental asylum,[7] while the 1971 German release presented a winged hybrid creature with Bowie's head and a hand for a body, preparing to flick the Earth away. The 1972 reissue by RCA used a black-and-white picture of Ziggy Stardust on the sleeve. The 1990 Rykodisc reissue reinstated the original UK "dress" cover, which also appeared on the 1999 EMI remaster. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_man_who_sold_the_world |
