Notes: Hailing
from Smackover Arkansas and making his brand of honky tonk, gospel
and rockabilly since 1957, Sleepy is a master of the live show.
His repertoire ranges far and wide (reportedly over 6000 songs
and rising) and there's very few request he couldn't fill. He's
another legend that you seldom hear about, but should. A voice
that goes all the way to the bottom of the well and rings true
the entire way. Single lines and sometimes entire verses are rearranged
or replaced in whole by a new thought or a segue into another yet
another rockin' number. A good synopsis of Sleep and rockabilly
in general is presented in the back cover liner notes and the LP
is pressed onto clear
gold vinyl. Plenty of records from Sleepy's catalog have been
released on CD and are well worth hunting down.
