Artist:  Oscar Peterson

Title:  Stan Getz and The Oscar Peterson Trio

Date:  1981

Label:  Polygram Records   UMV 26645

Notes:  A thoroughly enjoyable session originally released in 1957. This Japanese re-issue captures the Trio with Stan Getz sitting in and blowing some ballads for all to hear. The chemistry feels fine and the band swings along easily. The front cover photo captures a happy moment and it seems to set the mood for the music within. Although this record should be filed under "Getz" I think it fits better into Oscar's body of work.

Line Up:

Stan Getz: tenor
Oscar Peterson: piano
Ray Brown: bass
Herb Ellis: guitar
