| Artist: Sparks Title: Kimono My House Date: 1974 Label: Island Records ILPS 9272 Art Direction: Nicholas Deville Cover Concept: Ron Mael Photography: Karl Stoecker Artwork: Bob Bowkett
Notes: A high school favorite here. The atmospheric vocals and quirky arrangements and song structures were worth the grief my friends gave me over listening to "wimp rock". I'm not really fond of their later output, but this record still plays fine start to finish (although the last song and its repeating "Equator" could be cut with no pain felt). The cover art is distinct and captures the mood. Fun record for the 80's inclined (despite its 70's pedigree).
Line Up: Dinky Diamond: drums
