| Artist: The Surf Trio Title: Forbidden Sounds Date: 1999 Label: Dionysus/ Blood Red Vinyl BRLP12008 Illustrations By: El Hefe Color By: Steve Lewis
Notes: Another fun group of guys who just like to play surf-influenced music for the masses. I mean, how could anyone dislike an album with song titles like, "Being for the Benefit of Mr. French" or "Surfin' With the Mountain King"? There's a few vocals mixed in for good measure as well. And it contains, as the cover says, the millionth band to do the Banana Splits Theme. And do it well I might add. The cover presents the record as a Rat Fink inspired "All-Plastic Assembly Kit" and it appears that the boys on the back cover are wielding Mosrite guitars. A real blast from the past for us old enough to remember spending countless hours building model kits on the kitchen table. Anything by these madmen is worth giving a good listen to.
Line Up: Pete Weinberger: guitar, organ Mark Pedersen plays drums and C.J. Cettina plays guitar on a couple songs. Jeff sings on a couple songs too.
