Notes:  A powerful collection of musicians sit down and play some improvisational jazz with its blues roots exposed. Each player as comfortable with his own instrument as he is with the company of the other players. Ron Carter is remembered as much for the notes he plays as for the ones he does not. His ability to choose just what is needed without embellishing the song for flair's sake was one of his lasting strengths. It's a nice blend of brass and wood, ivory and electronics. Those with a predilection for the female foot may pick this up for the cover shot. Me, I'll stick to the inner photos and the music thank you.
