Label:  Cotillion Records   SD 9034

Cover Illustration and Design:  Stanislaw Zagorski

Notes:  If I could only have one album by the Velvets this would be it. There's a simple feel to the entire record that combines their strong lyriciscm with pop melodies (listen to the background voices on "Who Loves the Sun") and rock guitars. Some long-time favorites were born of this album and a thousand garage bands gained inspiration. The cover illustration and photography are also simple in nature, but are quite fitting. Ya gotta have this one.

Line Up:

Doug Yule: organ, piano, bass, drums, lead guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals
Sterling Morrison: lead and rhythm guitars
Lou Reed: rhythm guitar, piano, vocals
Moe Tucker: drums
