Artist:  Grover Washington Jr.

Title:  Winelight

Date:  1980

Label:  Elektra Records   6E-305

Art Direction, Design:  Ron Coro

Photography:  Jim Shea, cover photo; Don Huntstein, innersleeve

Notes:  Some very mellow, smooth jazz for that late night glass of wine with a friend. Don't let the easy sound of this recording fool you, one look at the innersleeve photo and you know that Grover has put his all into the music he plays. Some vocal work by Bill Withers adds a nice touch to the project as well. A few soft focus pictures and a starlight filter to set the mood for the melodies within and the night is young. Chill another bottle and get back over here on the couch…

Line Up:

Grover Washington Jr.: soprano, alto, tenor saxophones
Bill Withers: vocal on "Just the Two of Us"
Ralph MacDonald: congas, percussion, syndrums
Steve Gaad: drums
Marcus Miller: bass
Eric Gale: guitar
Paul Griffin: Fender Rhodes, clavinet
Richard Tee: Fender Rhodes
Bill Eaton, Ed Walsh: Oberheim synthesizer
