| Artist: Frank Zappa Title: The Grand Wazoo Date: 1972 Label: Bizarre / Reprise Records Cover Illustration: Cal Schenkel Photos: Ed Caraeff, Barry Feinstein, Tony Esparza Notes: This is the tale of our funky emperor Cletus Awreetus-Awrightus and his dealings with war and a civic uprising concerning a faction consisting of individuals who don't like music. As you can see from the cover, horns play a forward role on this record and with George Duke on keys the jazz element is prominent. Very busy cover art and inside you'll find The Legend of Cletus Awreetus-Awrightus & the Grand Wazoo told in great detail. A fairly early record with a wealth of players involved. Worth looking up especially if you like your Zappa in a busy setting.
Line Up: Frank Zappa and a cast of very many including Aynsley Dunbar and George Duke
